The Commonwealth of Learning Literacy Project (COLLIT), undertaken in India and Zambia between 1999 and 2002, explored ways in which adult literacy programs could be enhanced through the use of appropriate technologies. It involved a review of adult literacy programs and the challenges involved in developing and implementing information and communications technology (ICT). This project report documents the experience of literacy workers in India and Zambia who used modern ICTs to design, create, develop and deliver adult literacy programs in the rural areas of India and Zambia over this three-year period. It describes the context of the project, the experience of implementing it, an analysis of the outcomes and the insights gained. Show less
